About Me

Maria Galante

I teach visual communications, or what we refer to as graphic design, to college and vocational high school students. Students are introduced to graphic design as a form of visual communication through the use of type, image, form and color while using Adobe Creative Cloud products. In addition, students learn how to create interactive media, web pages, animations, and how to shoot/edit video and photography. I also freelance, designing logos, interactive media and printed marketing materials. I have many years of full-time experience as an art director and senior graphic designer working in the Internet and financial services industries. My education includes an Advanced Graduate Certificate in UX Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology, a Master in Education, BFA in Graphic Design, Certificate in Multimedia and a professional teaching license. In my free time, I practice being an artist, calligrapher and designer.
